Hypo is the only credit institution in Finland that specialises in housing.

Hypo is a mutual company governed by its member customers. We provide our customers with the full range of home financing services. We grant mortgage and consumer loans for all stages of home owning including purchasing and renovating. We continuously develop new ways and models of housing and home financing. We offer safe deposit accounts for customers interested in saving and investing and also bonds for institutional investors. We also issue credit cards.

Established 160 years ago, the Mortgage Society of Finland operates in the century-old Hypo House in the heart of Helsinki where our customers are served by 50 home financing specialists. In addition, our customers have access to secure, user-friendly online and telephone banking services.

The Mortgage Society of Finland constitutes the core of Hypo Group which also includes Suomen AsuntoHypoPankki Oy, a deposit bank founded in 2002. Hypo is a member of the Federation of Finnish Financial Services and a founding member of Nordiska Realkredit Samråd, the federation of Nordic Mortgage Banks. In addition, Hypo is a member of the International Union for Housing Finance. All Hypo’s operations are monitored by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority.
